Local Insurance Agent Receives National Award

Comfrey S. Ickes, Jr. with Ickes Insurance and Financial Services has recently been awarded the National Quality Award. The National Association of Life Underwriters (NALU) located in Washington D.C., confers this award to promote and recognize excellence in client and customer representation.

The National Quality Award was created in 1944 and recognizes an agent's ability to provide long-standing insurance products and service to clients.

Comfrey S. Ickes, Jr. started in the insurance business in 1953 when his father suddenly passed away. Since that time he has successfully brought the business to where it is at today. Since the business began in 1906 it has now grown to 17 employees.

Only ten to fifteen percent of the nation's insurance agents receive one of these annual, prestigious NALU industry awards. The National Association of Life Underwriters was founded in 1890 and represents over 110,000 professionals in life, health, property/casualty insurance and other financial services. NALU is affiliated with the Westmoreland County Association of Life Underwriters.
