Local Agent Awarded Distinguished Insurance Designation

Malvern, PA -- Christopher S. Ickes has been awarded the professional insurance designation Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) by the American Institute for CPCU. This announcement was made by Lawrence G. Brandon, CPCU, AIM, ARM, American Institute for CPCU president and chief operating officer. The American Institute for CPCU is an independent, nonprofit educational organization that confers the CPCU designation on persons who complete its ten rigorous courses and national essay examinations and meet its ethics and experience requirements. All CPCUs are required to maintain and to improve their professional knowledge, skills, and competence through their commitment to the American Institute's Code of Professional Ethics.

In 1991 Chris graduated from St. Vincent College with a Bachelor Arts in Accounting and went on to earn his Certified Public Accountant, (CPA) designation. Since that time Chris has completed the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation and the Chartered Life Underwriter, (CLU) designation. Chris is the 4th generation of family operating Ickes Insurance & Financial Services. Chris has been a licensed agent and working in the insurance industry for the past 8 years selling and servicing all lines of insurance.

The designation will be formally conferred at a ceremony in Dallas, Texas, on September 29, 1997. The conferment will be held in conjunction with the Annual Meeting and Seminars of the CPCU Society.
